I'm finally off to the doctor this morning after having bronchitis for over
a week that shows no sign of
disappearing any time soon. Michael typically has to beg me to please
just go to the Dr.'s.
Being a daughters doctor I guess we just don't like going
I would rather call my dad and ask him
Brooklyn was off to preschool this morning.
Ethan was so excited to be able to take her as well.
I have been keeping him home from school because of a cough he can't seem to get over.
I never ever thought I would hear myself say this and become one of
"them"
I had a mother who homeschooled me but homeschooled me in the sense
of letting me cook and clean for a large family.... thus...my trepidations in homeschooling
After volunteering in Ethan's classroom at public school,I'm pretty non enthusiastic
about everything that goes on there....
I will spare you the details some gross and some just plain boring.
My son does not have ADD
but I'm thinking keeping him in that system would give him ADD.
Right now he is bright and eager to learn....
Until we can afford private school maybe homeschooling is the best option.
I find it so interesting that their is a large movement of nonreligious
homeschoolers out there who just recognize the value in it.
Makes me think its now more than about
sheltering your kids or always should have been to my mother
So we are considering the option and have not made a decision quite yet.
These two are truly best of friends...
and yes they fight and have conflict because even best of friends do
I'm done with my Interpersonal Conflict class...
I have truly been learning so much. I was laying in bed last night telling Michael,
even if I never use my college degree other than for my own and my childrens personal knowledge and growth.
I am so happy and thankful to be learning and growing as a person.Happy Tuesday

I've had the same thoughts about schooling. If we can't afford private school or any other alternative schooling then I may attempt home school. Public school appears to be more and more about pushing agendas and catering to things, rather than educating. I guess we can figure that out when we get there.
I'm praying for you that you'll get well soon! Sorry you're sick! It would have been so fun to have seen you at Ayla's party, but I'm glad you got some rest.
Hugs,
B
I know I sound like a broken record when I come here - but your kids are SO ADORABLE!!!! :) love em~
I completely understand about your trepidations about homeschooling - I swore I never would either. But yeah, since we're not thrilled w/ our public school (especially 6th grade for kate!! scary place), but we also can't afford private ed. either.... we tried and looked into different things through the years -- and now for the last two have done a non christian online school called k12. It's state funded, so it's free~ I think each state has something similar. It might be worth you looking into to see if it would work for you guys.... so far, we've been really pleased with it.
Hope you get better soon~ !!!!

Danya, I know you want what is best for your family and I know within time God will reveal to you what you need to be doing about school. You know that we have been homeschooling now for a while and I just pray that you will find what works for your family! Any solution is going to have it's difficulties, but if the decision that you make is led by God than you can "tough" it out. I have loved having my boys at home and being able to let them excel at what they are good at and help them one on one when they have difficulty. God's blessing on your decision!!
@Shalee - Thank you so much Shalee. '
I appreciate your words of encouragement.
